To be green or not be green, that is the question; climate change, a major disruption for the banking sector

Emerging markets have become a major driver for sustainable development and addressing climate change. Market-based sustainable finance initiatives led by the members of the Sustainable Banking Network (SBN) have made significant progress in directing the financial sector toward sustainability. Established with support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group, SBN represents a community of financial sector regulators and institution from 38 economies with a shared ambition to transform the financial markets towards sustainability. 

The panel will discuss the latest conclusions of the SBN’s Progress Report sharing with the audience a view of progress toward sustainable finance among the emerging economies and particularly, the Latin-American ones.
